Yes please, I'll take a slice of that 70 billion dollar pie Neal!
Finding ways for creators to monetize is on the important things-to-do list for the new
CEO, Mr. Mohan. We like that.
And I am right there with him with cast-to-tv
and subscription models on the latest horizon, calling the living room the last frontier for YouTube. For me, Google Chromecast and paying YouTube for no ads give me a comfort-driven, at-my-command, watching experience on my TV in the living room or at my bedside, rather than sitting at my desk for all hours! (Are you seeing why I’m right behind Neal in this direction?)
Protecting the Creator Economy
Neal’s fourth point was also creator-centric in stating, “Protecting the creator economy is foundational.” Please take a look at his letter so you can step outside of your goals and
strategy to see the bigger picture for your role, and the role in general, of the creator in the YouTube and bigger economy.
I’d love for you to think about the YouTube platform, how it fits into society, what its role is in the community and for your business, and how you may better align your view with communications in the digital media space,
specifically for your YouTube channel.
I remind you to notice what you like and don’t when you view YouTube videos and pleeease keep these things in mind when you are creating and producing for your channel.
YouTube’s Shopping Program
Well, it’s a little clunky right now, but I created a new video to give you a look at an ad placement. Right now, the US market only has access. There is a subscriber requirement, but you can still apply if
you're smaller, (I did) using their affiliate program interest form. The products you can showcase are many… and include some of the largest retailers out there.
