I started blogging back in 2009 but boy oh boy have things changed since then. Back then, blogging gave us
access to our own platform and it gave us a way to be heard. A place to share our opinions and connect with others who felt the same way we do! If we wanted to earn a little money to support our efforts we put up some ads and as long as Google sent us some traffic, that's all it took!
Fast forward to today and we realize that if we want to make money from our content we have several options to choose from. YouTube, Amazon, Podcasting, TikTok, and so many other e-commerce and micro-sites, where we can set up shop.
Our friend Martin Lindeskog from Teaparty.media joined the conversation and had a lot to offer. Martin started blogging in 2002 (way before most people I know). I bet he has heard about how "Blogging is Dying" at least 50 times more than you or me. Ha!
But blogging is still here! We just need to stay nimble and adapt to all the changes coming our way.
One thing I mentioned (and Deborah and Martin agreed) is to explore other blogging tools, for example we all use Podpage. I introduced Podpage to you in a previous email as an alternative to using something like WordPress or other more traditional blogging platforms. Here is my affiliate link if you want to explore the
benefits.
If you want to explore a free alternative, check out Buy Me a Coffee (referral link). They recently added some cool features like polls and custom urls for your blog posts. Set up a membership, add a shop, offer an exclusive podcast and more with your Buy Me a Coffee Page.
What ever you decide, please don't give up on blogging yet. Try a new approach instead.
As always, if you have questions, hit reply and let me know, I'd love to chat with
you.
Stay Beautiful - Until Next Time,
