September is rolling in, ready or not, ,

And just as the leaves hint at new colors and drop away, so are changes coming to my favorite browser based livestreaming platform: Streamyard. Check out my coverage and the lively discussion from my stream over the weekend, here.

And while some of the updates are for features we’ve been wanting and waiting for, a price increase wasn’t on the wishlist for most of us! Still, some new things they are now offering are nice to have and I one of the favorites people may enjoy is the ability to customize camera shapes to change the shapes and edges of how you appear in the frame of your videos. Like this: 

As you may already know, since I use Ecamm Live (affiliate link) I can easily adjust the shape and size of my camera so this feature is not a biggie for me but if you have never tried it before, I'll admit it's very handy.

Other new features include dark mode released a few months back to please many folks asking for this one, and the reusable studio makes good sense for most businesses and creators. Additionally, the upgrade to 1080p screen sharing in HD for all accounts is a welcome upgrade for a better viewing experience for your audience. 

Finally, the 4K recording feature promises “crystal-clear and high-quality content far above the previous HD standards.”  Streamyard further states in their announcement of this feature, “Now, you can download perfect, studio-quality video and audio recordings from each host and guest.”

The Bottom Line

Your current price structure will stay in place until it is time for you to renew, and you'll be transferred to the appropriate price point closest to your current package. Of course, you can upgrade or downgrade as needed, but there is no option for a legacy pricing structure for us in the new plan from Streamyard’s new owners.

ICYMI. Here are a few more features or improvements in Streamyard over the past 6 months to note:

• Pinned on-air chat messages
• AI Video Clips
• Invitation to on-air viewers to the studio (to join you live!)

Currently, I'm still recommending Streamyard and invite you to see for yourself if it is right for you!

Oh, and by the way, the new subscription packages for users, Core, Advanced, and Teams, are to replace all non-business plans. Business customers with custom business plans are to remain unchanged for pricing but may gain new features.
