As we begin the second half of 2024, I hope you are making progress toward your goals ! But if you're feeling a bit stuck here is one of my favorite quotes for you to ponder:
Obstacles to not block the path,
They are the path
~Zen proverb
That said, just take a deep breath -- and a long slow exhale, and let's get into today's topic.
I want to spread the word to Amazon Influencers, Associates, and anyone looking to get into these Amazon programs for an extra stream of income. Amazon changes the rules sometimes as you
know, but their latest email indicates one biggie that may impact many of you.
To talk more about this end-to-music rule from Amazon and more, I created a video for you right away (of course!) and you can view it
here:
In the LIVE video, I share my take on the new no-music rule, but share a few solutions for you, too.
The problem is that Amazon shoppable videos are being muted suddenly due to this rule! For some of you, this may compromise a lot of published shoppable videos already on Amazon or your Amazon
storefront. I hope my solutions are helpful to you.
Let me know if any of your videos are muted and have a warning label like this one I saw on Inspire: Audio not available for this video.
You’ll want to fix your videos by removing the music on muted videos because that means no talking either! No explanations or your views of products will be heard, making some of your videos a little pointless.
This may or may not apply to your videos with a music background or to ALL of your videos with a music background, but it may. So far, my videos with music haven’t been muted, but I buy rights-free music for my work. If you use popular songs or artist’s work in your videos, make changes from now on. You may need to edit and
re-upload previously published videos too.
There’s an easy way to find videos to fix per Amazon’s rules. Look for “needs attention” on your Amazon dashboard under the “Manage content” tab, as shown below.
Read Your Amazon Email
I urge you to read the entire email from Amazon, but I like the Do’s and Don’ts
summaries they offer. Here are examples to outline the major notes I discuss in the video.
Steer clear of uploading the same video in different
formats and keep your content fresh and unique.
While the music issue in the
rules update may feel like a surprise, a few of the other important points mentioned only seem obvious to me.
Things like creating original work rather than just copies of others or duplicate content for your videos, using your perceptions and words about products; not using other people’s words or videos, and not using Amazon’s keywords to your advantage.
Here’s more straight from Amazon:
All in all, my friend, my best suggestion is to stay true to YOU with authentic and genuine content from you to your
viewers.
Straightforward does the trick. What’s your take?
Until next time, stay beautiful!
If you are in the U.S. have a Happy Fourth 🇺🇸
