I can’t believe it’s nearly August my beautiful friend, but time isn’t the only fast-moving train to catch this year. YouTube’s updates are rolling out goodies to help improve your videos in a whole bunch of ways! Ready?

SHORTS:

Ok, now let's dive into these updates -

YouTube’s official blog announces 6 new tools coming out soon and you may just want to keep an eye out for them to try right away in your Shorts productions. I’m excited about a few myself! 

Here’s the list:

• Transform long videos to Shorts using the auto layout feature. 
• Audio enhancement for a text-to-speech feature to add voiceovers to your Shorts content.
• (THIS ONE I’m copying directly from the YouTube blog … it’s available to some already!) 

“Join the community convo with the “Add yours” sticker

Showing off the latest trick you taught your dog? Creators can now include an “Add yours” sticker to their Shorts to inspire your audience with their own related content, sparking a chain reaction of adorable content! We’re rolling this out gradually over the next few weeks.”

• Add Minecraft (game) effects to your Shorts.
• Test new editable stylized captions in your videos.
• Remix a remix for more possibilities in the video mixing toolkit. 

INSPIRATION:

THUMBNAILS:

I’m just going to say it, creating thumbnails can drive you nuts! The best way to do them is to make thumbnails so people click on your video. That’s all, right? 

Well luckily, YouTube wants to help, but only from your laptop or computer for now. Here’s a more comprehensive video from YouTube Creators for details.
