Livestreaming is all the rage with most platforms, and people are experimenting with Vertical Livestreams more than ever right now, with a new emphasis on direct-to-platform streaming. 

Here are my tutorials for my favorite third-party apps like Ecamm Live or Streamyard, but it’s easy for people to stream vertically and directly, using their phones for ease of production.

Here's a rundown of YouTube's new features for Vertical Streams:

• YouTube is currently rolling out a gifting feature called "Jewels," which allows viewers to send monetary gifts during vertical live streams. This feature is somewhat reminiscent of similar options available on platforms like Twitch. It simplifies the transaction so that gifters can continue watching the stream without the interruption of a Super Chat.

• When you go live vertically, your stream may show up in the Shorts feed, making it accessible to a wider audience. This feature is a big win, as it allows creators to attract viewers who may have never encountered their content otherwise.

• Mobile viewers can double tap the screen to like your stream. Try adding a poll to the chat to increase engagement and interaction.

• YouTube creators can enable subscriber-only chats. This feature is especially helpful for enticing new viewers from the Shorts feed who may want to comment and engage with others who are chatting.

• In response to the need for context, YouTube is introducing generative AI features that provide viewers with chat summaries. This is especially beneficial for new viewers who join midway and want to catch up on what they’ve missed.

• BONUS TIP: Currently there are no ads appearing on vertical streams. Not sure how long that is going to last so enjoy it while you can 😂
