My Best Blogging Tip - Audio Style |
This week I recorded one of my favorite blogging tips in an audio podcast so you can listen to it while you're working out at the gym, doing some house work, or driving in your car on the way to the mall. This tip is called The Three C's for Your Blogging Success.
I recorded it because I wanted to share something that everyone can benefit from no matter where you are in your blogging career - whether you are a beginner or even if you have been blogging for years. The most popular post on the blog this week is from Zac Johnson and he wants to know - Are You A Horrible Guest Blogger? You might be surprised to find out if you are or not. We all know how important it is to get high quality incoming links and guest posting is a great way to accomplish that goal. If you want to get your post accepted on some of the tops blogs, be sure to follow Zac's advice because he has mastered the art! 
A lot of bloggers are getting excited because Google updated their toolbar Page Rank this week. I use the SEO Site Tools extension to see the Google Page Rank of any site that I visit and currently my blog has a Page Rank of 5. If you're not using Google Chrome yet (you poor thing) just use this Page Rank Checker website.
I made a list of some factors that should help improve your Google Page Rank. There are over 200 factors that Google uses to decide page rank and most of them are kept secret however, we should all know these major points:- Good content
- Site Speed
- Valid XML Sitemap
- Appropriate Metadata
- Quality Backlinks
- Internal linking

Consistent Updates (not 100% necessary but still important)
- Good design and easy site navigation
- Limited number of Ads "above the fold"
- Strong Social Signals
- Low Bounce Rate
- Length of time visitors spend on your site
- Number of pages each visitor clicks before leaving your site
