-- How are things going with you?
The other day a friend asked me to join a Facebook Group to help respond to a few questions about SEO strategies. This Q&A evolved into a downright Facebook chat and I was more than happy to engage with my new found Facebook friends yet I'd be remiss if I didn't share this information with you as well, here goes:
Question:
As a content writer what factors do you look at before and while writing your posts [in terms] of SEO ?

Answer:
#1. I already have a strong SEO benefit from my URL and from my blog's meta description "Blogging Tips, Social Media Optimization, YouTube Video Tutorials!"

#2. With keywords in my URL already, I make sure that every post has a good keyword based permalink structure. For example the title of my post is "How to Take Charge of Your Blog Post Frequency" then the permalink contains "/blog-post-frequency.html"

#3. I use the SEOPressor plugin!  This is critical to the success of bringing in traffic from search engines. But it only works if you follow the instructions given in your WordPress dashboard. SEOPressor plugin reminds you to have keywords in Title, first sentence of the post, H2 and H3 tags. You also MUST have an image with the same exact keyword in the Alt tag!
The biggest mistake I see a lot of guest bloggers making is that they seem to be afraid to use H2 and H3 tags with the same keywords. PLEASE DON'T BE AFRAID TO DO THIS!!
[Remember] most people do not read your posts, they only skim them. So if you are talking about "blog post frequency" then your tags should give the "skimmer" an indication of what the next section of your post is going to be about. So you see the SEOPressor plugin helps PEOPLE too - not just search engines....

#4. Record a YouTube video [or podcast] about your topic and include keywords in the title, description and tags of the video.

I follow this strategy and it's a great way to get started on your journey for learning about SEO and getting organic traffic to your blog from search engines. Of course there is more to the story, but you must have a strong foundation in order to build a better blog.

Stay tuned, we'll get there!
