My Ranking in SERPs is Going Up and Your's Can Too

Published: Tue, 06/26/12

I rarely check my ranking for certain keywords. In fact, most of the time I don't even do keyword research (I leave that to my guest authors), but this weekend while I was working on a tutorial I saw something in the Google Search results page that blew my mind!
Blogging Tips
I hope you can see the image I just shared in this email. That's me on the front page of Google, right under ProBlogger himself Darren Rowse. I'm ranking on the front page for the term "Blogging Tips"!!

Oh, and before I forget, the other thing that's so amazing about this is that I'm actually getting traffic from Google because of this placement.
You see, it doesn't matter if you are ranking highly for a keyword or keyphrase if it's not sending your blog traffic.

Here's what I did and you can to do this too!

1. I added "Blogging Tips" to the meta data, tagline and title of my blog.
2. I use Google+ and have the rel=author tag connected between my profile and my blog
3. I deliver on what I promise. What is my site about? BLOGGING TIPS!
4. I update my blog regularly
5. I am active on social media (Twitter, Facebook, Google+, YouTube and more)
6. I provide quality content*
7. I say my prayers :)

* my definition of quality content is content that will make someone's life better. People get on the internet looking for ways they can improve their life by getting knowledge, being entertained, making connections with other people, or having fun, etc. Figure out how YOU can improve someone's online experience and your content will be "quality".

Work on these strategies and you're going to start ranking for your important keywords too.

Hang in there, it takes time, but I know you can do it!
