I know that for many of us, starting a blog can seem overwhelming and intimidating. I created first blog "Basic Blog Tips" about 10 yrs ago. I am not as active there. My primary blog at this time is about 4 yrs old, so I have quite a few years in the blogging world. I also have tried a few blog themes, and will bring you up to date on what is happening with the two blogs I have.

The Astra Theme, acts as the flexible foundation for your blog and lets you quickly import templates and customize your blog using simple, code-free controls.
I think you need to try a few of them and find the one that best fits your needs. I can tell you that after trying different ones I found that Astra was good, even though it didn't have all the features that I need, (at least not on the free plan) such as social media engagement tools. I did find what I needed with the Jetpack plugin.
